Moving on
So my house sold after some 8 months on the market. We’re supposed to close a month from today. My wife is also getting a new job. It’s in Fort Lauderdale. So it looks like we’re moving back to where we grew up, for the 3rd time since we moved out of our parents’ places. We know the area and we have friends and family there so we’ll be fine.
I’m going to miss the family I’m leaving behind here in North Carolina, and I’m going to miss the few friends I’ve made here (and don’t get me wrong, the people I’ve met have been pretty awesome), but honestly I’ve always felt a bit like a fish out of water here. Charlotte definitely has some great people and potential to be a great city, but in the end we don’t feel like it’s for us. We’ll still be visiting family every few months anyway.
I hope we’re doing the right thing for our son most of all. We’re doing what we can to make this move as smooth as possible for him, but both parents working probably won’t sit well with him. I hope he gets over it.
Also, since I’ll be living in Broward County, look for me as a witness in upcoming episodes of COPS. And you south Florida people better want to hang out when I decide to leave the house.
